Greatdays invites you to immerse yourself in a world of nostalgic country life and Regency society of Jane Austen. The Story begins in the cathedral city of Winchester, the former Saxon capital of England, pauses for some on location activity in Salisbury and takes a much closer look at Georgian England in the glorious city of Bath.


Itinerary Summary

Day 1

Welcome to England

Arrive at LHR where your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel in Winchester. You will drive past Basingstoke on the old London Road, where we can see The Wheatsheaf, the coaching Inn where Jane sent and received letters. Afternoon is free. Overnight in Winchester.

Day 2

Chawton and Winchester

This morning you will go to Chawton where you will see this single street village of thatched cottages from mid 1500’s, Chawton House and the church in the driveway with her mother’s and Cassandra’s graves. After independent lunch, you will return to Winchester for an afternoon tour of the Cathedral where Jane Austen is buried. Overnight in Winchester.

Day 3

Salisbury and Sense and Sensibility

Leave Winchester for Bath stopping on the way in Salisbury. Step back into a past world and visit Mompesson House, featured in the award-winning film Sense and Sensibility. Visit Salisbury Cathedral before continuing to Bath. Overnight in Bath.

Day 4

Jane Austen in Bath

Start today with a visit to the Jane Austen Centre before reaching N1 Royal Crescent, a museum of life in the mid 1700’s upstairs and downstairs. The rest of afternoon is free to explore this beautiful city. Overnight in Bath.

Day 5

Pride and Prejudice

Leave Bath for London. On the way you will stop at the villages of Lacock where you can enjoy a walk around Meryton village and the Assembly Hall from Pride and Prejudice; and Steventon where Jane spent her early years. Overnight in London.

Day 6

Free and Easy in London

Today is free for you to explore the capital on your own. Overnight in London.

Day 7

Home Time

Private transfer to the airport for return flight home.
