Take a well-deserved break from the hustle and bustle of the big city and stay at historic Stapleford Park, one of the finest stately houses in England. With maze-like gardens, a resident falconer, croquet, giant chess, mini golf and even a few woolly sheep grazing in the grounds, this landmark property is the perfect English escape. A destination for dining too, the hotel features a genteel restaurant awarded two AA Rosettes where Head Chef, Luke Holland, seeks inspiration from locally sourced ingredients to create sumptuous seasonal dishes.

Day 1

Welcome to Stapleford Park

Take a train from London Kings Cross station to Grantham (approx 1hr) where your chauffeur will meet you and take you to the hotel. Alternatively, a private transfer from London can be arranged (approx 2.5hrs). Check-in and the rest of the day is at your leisure. Relax in a quiet corner in the main house, go for a stroll around beautiful gardens or melt away your stress with a blissful spa treatment located in the old converted Victorian stables. In the evening, dress up and head to the 2 AA Rosette Grinling Gibbons restaurant to spend some quality time together over a candlelit dinner.

Day 2

Luxury Country Life Experience

There is enough to do on the estate that you really needn’t leave! Play a round of golf on a championship 18-hole golf course, take falconry lessons, go horse-riding, try clay-shooting and croquet and even duck-herding – who wouldn’t want to chase ducks for fun? As part of your stay, enjoy exclusive access to the swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and tennis courts. In the afternoon, sink into the soft plump cushions of the Drawing Room with glistening chandeliers above, and relax with the warmth of tea and deliciously delicate treats of your traditional afternoon tea.

Day 3

Home Time

After a leisurely breakfast, your chauffeur will take you back to Peterborough station for your return train to London. You will stop at the magnificent Burghley House, one of England’s greatest Elizabethan houses, en-route.
