This is a place of peace, calm and tranquillity where time stands still and catches its breath. Your only dilemma here will be whether to relax and look out at the view or go out and be part of it!
Arrive at Europe Hotel & Resort in the afternoon, check-in and let relaxation envelop you as you enjoy one of Ireland’s finest views from your own private balcony. Refreshed and relaxed, come downstairs for your dinner. The Brasserie Restaurant has a terrace for relaxed al fresco dining or The Panorama Restaurant provides fine dining in Killarney at its best (table reservations are recommended).
The traditional way to see all the local ‘beauty spots’ is by Jaunting Car (local ‘unique’ horse drawn carriage) in the company of a ‘Jarvey’ (driver and guide) who will spin the ‘old stories’ at every corner on the road. The ‘must see’ attraction is Muckross House. Dating from 1843 it is a former private residence where you can view the famous, specially-prepared bedroom where Queen Victoria slept during her visit in 1861.
Depending on the duration of your stay (a minimum of 3 nights stay is recommended), choose from the following options:
Ring of Kerry is one of the most famous attractions in Ireland. Dramatic panoramas, majestic mountains, ancient sites and towns are found along the 166km route through the southern tip of Kerry. Group tours and private driver guides for individuals can be arranged.
Another ‘must be experienced’ trip is a tour of the Gap of Dunloe, one of the most stunningly beautiful parts of Co Kerry. Your journey begins with a short drive to Kate Kearney’s Cottage where you can take a jaunting car or go on horseback through the six mile pass. This winding road meanders through the gap as the mountains rise above you bringing you to the shores of the lake. Once through the gap, boats are waiting for the homeward journey via the enchanting Upper, Middle & Lower Lakes to historic Ross Castle.
Alternatively, stay at the hotel and take advantage of its world class facilities. Enjoy horse riding on Haflinger ponies and play tennis on two indoor courts. Boating and fishing can be arranged from the hotel’s private pier. Relax the body, rejuvenate your mind and refresh the senses at ESPA, one of the most opulent and award winning spas in Ireland. Enjoy signature treatments, a 20m lap pool, indoor & outdoor vitality pools, thermal suites and relaxation experiences.
