This Channel Islands Explorer tour gives an opportunity to discover the neighbouring islands of Jersey and Guernsey.  The warm climate may be the same, but the way of life is totally different.

Jersey, the popular holiday destination, is an island of beautiful landscapes, with sandy beaches and towering cliffs. Not only does Jersey offer a variety of outdoor adventures, but there is also a wealth of sites to discover including the St Elizabeth Church and the Jersey War Tunnels. You can also discover St Peter Port, a busy port with cobbled streets and one of Europe’s prettiest harbour towns.

Our tours can be amended and tailored to your own requirements. They are available for groups and Individuals who wish to travel on an independent basis.

As the tours are individual and bespoke they can be amended to fit your itinerary, and departures are possible on any day to suit. Even though you travel on your own, we use local guides to assist with your sightseeing arrangements. Availability on Jersey may be limited at certain times of the year due to local events.

Suggested itinerary

Day 1

Travel to the Channel Islands

Make your way by either air or ferry to the Channel Islands. (Please contact us for details of flights from London or other UK airports or ferries from Poole or Portsmouth.)
On arrival you will be met and transferred by car/mini coach to your hotel.
You will stay on Jersey for 3 nights on a room & breakfast basis, though it is possible to add meals to the booking, or alternatively explore the wonderful cafes and restaurants in St Helier for a great choice of dining options.

Day 2

Jersey Island Tour

After breakfast enjoy a breath taking private Island tour. Your knowledgeable driver/guide will take you to the popular sights and attractions of Jersey including the beautiful bays of St Brelade and St Ouen, the Corbiere Lighthouse and the charming village of St Aubin. Durrell wildlife conservation trust is a must to visit, get up and close with some of the rarest animals on earth! An optional visit to The Jersey War Tunnels is available, a true reminder from a dark time in Jersey’s history where slaves from across Europe were forced to work.
You will have a stop for lunch during the day (not included) and there will be plenty of chance to stop for photos.
At the end of the tour you will return to your hotel.

Day 3

A free day on Jersey or alternatively optional visit to Herm Island

After breakfast, relax and enjoy browsing the many cobbled streets of St Helier and the surrounding area. Visit the Maritime Museum on Liberation Square or wander around the attractive town centre. Stroll along the wide promenade to St Aubin’s Bay with views out to Elizabeth Castle. Accessible at low tide by foot or by the Castle Ferry. In the afternoon, there is the option of an afternoon tea at the St Brelade’s Bay Hotel.

Alternatively take a day trip to the island of Herm (details and supplements on request).

Your evening is at leisure to dine in St Helier.

Day 4

Jersey to Guernsey

Morning at leisure before your transfer from your hotel to the harbour to board the Condor ferry service to Guernsey (approx 1 hour). On arrival in Guernsey you will be transferred to your chosen hotel. You have the rest of the day free to explore, and the evening at leisure to eat as you please.

Please note that ferry timings from Jersey to Guernsey can vary by month and day of the week, but the crossing is usually in the afternoon.

Day 5

Free day / Guernsey Island Tour

Enjoy breakfast in the hotel.

If you are staying on Guernsey on a Wednesday or Saturday, we offer a half day Island Tour by coach

You will  have the opportunity to explore The Little Chapel. Originally built in 1914, the chapel is known for being one of the smallest in the world and is decorated beautifully in broken china, shells and pebbles. The Little Chapel features in the book “The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society”, upon which the recent film of the same name is based. You will then go back on route to Pleinmont Point where you will be able to see stunning views of the south coast and visit the restored German gun battery. You will then be able to stop off for refreshments at the Guernsey Pearl.

Back on board the coach your driver will take you for a drive around the west coast passing some of Guernsey’s favourite beaches including Cobo Bay and Pembroke Bay.

The tour will then come to end, finishing back in St Peter Port.

​On other days of the week you have the opportunity to explore the Island on your own using the excellent local bus services that cover the Island – a day ticket is currently available for GBP£7.50 per person and is valid throughout the Island

 

Day 6

Day Trip to Sark

After breakfast, there will be a private transfer to the harbour where you will sail from St Peter Port to Sark by ferry at around 10am for the 45 minute journey. With no cars on the Island, we include a tractor drawn bus to transfer you up to Harbour Hill, and a 1 hour horse & carriage ride or alternatively bicycles are available to pre-book.

Day 7

Travel home

After breakfast, there may be some time to pick up some last minute low tax bargains before your transfer to the port or airport for your journey home.

This tour is available for Individuals & Groups

For individual travellers, airport and port transfers, will usually be by private car or taxi. Excursions and tours will be with shared transport in a coach for groups or minimum 10 persons, a coach or mini coach will be provided for exclusive use of the group.

Our prices are based on bed & breakfast in the hotel allowing you the flexibility to eat as you wish and experience the great cuisine the Islands offer. Dinner in the hotels can be arranged and supplements will be quoted on request.


Prices for individual travellers start at GBP £1449 for 2024 departures in 4 star standard accommodation.

There will be supplements applicable for occupancy of a single room – supplements on request.
