Downton Abbey ‘On Location’ Tour
For all you Downton Abbey fans, come and join us for a packed and fun-filled insight to the world of the Crawley family. We will take you on a day tour of locations used to film Downton Abbey, from Cotswolds villages to spectacular Highclere Castle.
With our knowledgeable and entertaining tour manager, we will leave London early in the morning. Our tour starts with ‘on location’ visits to the Oxfordshire Cotswold villages of Swinbrook and Shilton and a walk around the picturesque Oxfordshire village of Bampton, where most of Downton Abbey’s outdoor scenes were filmed. Here we will see St Mary’s Church, the village pub, the library and Matthew Crawley’s house.
After an independent lunch, we will continue to the Highclere Castle* aka Downton Abbey where you will explore the rooms as seen on TV. There are guides in the Castle rooms and the cellars to tell you stories from behind the scenes and help you find out more about some of the works of art throughout the Castle. You will be able to walk on gravel paths around the lawns and through some of the gardens and take as many pictures as you want! Afterwards, we will return to London around 6pm.
